Blue Diamond Industries, a manufacturer of HDPE and polyethylene pipe and conduit for electrical power and fiber optic cable applications, has announced that it will build a new $30 million production facility in Ogden. The Lexington, Kentucky-based company, a subsidiary of Hexatronic Group AB of Gothenburg, Sweden, said the new facility will produce duct and pipe products for telecom and power cables.{mprestriction ids="1,3"}
Hexatronic said the $30 million investment will pay for production equipment and infrastructure for establishing the production plant. Production is expected to start in the second quarter of 2024.
“We have a very positive view of the U.S. infrastructure market for many years to come. This is especially because of the large infrastructure investments in broadband, electricity grids, roads and railways that will be made through the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act,” said Henrik Larsson Lyon, CEO of Hexatronic Group. “With the establishment of the production facility in Ogden, Utah, Blue Diamond Industries will be able to serve customers throughout the United States.”
The Ogden plant will be the company’s fourth factory for duct and pipe in the U.S. The three existing plants are in Middlesboro, Kentucky; Aubrey, Texas; and Clinton, South Carolina.
“The establishment opens the market in the western parts of the U.S, a market Blue Diamond Industries was previously unable to serve due to high transportation costs,” said Lyon.{/mprestriction}
