Salt Lake City-based HB Workplaces, a workplace furnishings solutions company, has acquired MBI Seattle, a full-service office furniture dealer. Effective immediately, MBI will be fully integrated into HB Workplaces’ operations.

MBI Seattle is a 50-year-old company serving the Northwest with workplace furnishings, space planning, delivery, installation and facility management services. It is the oldest MillerKnoll office furniture dealer in Seattle.

“This strategic acquisition allows HB Workplaces to expand its presence and better serve clients in Seattle, Salt Lake City, Boise, St. George, Las Vegas, Reno and surrounding areas,” HB Workplaces said in announcing the acquisition. “By merging MBI’s five decades of experience with HB Workplaces’ expanded resources and capabilities, the company aims to offer more comprehensive solutions, support, and expertise, equipping MB’s customers with the tools and solutions needed to meet the challenges of today’s dynamic work environments.”

“We are thrilled to welcome MBI into the HB Workplaces family,” said Dan Sprague, HB Workplaces' market president for Idaho and Washington. “MBI’s exceptional legacy of customer service and innovative design will continue as HB Workplaces. This acquisition will allow us to enhance our offerings and provide our clients in western Washington and beyond even greater resources and solutions to meet the evolving needs of today’s workplaces.”

HB Workplaces, a MillerKnoll certified dealer since 1983, provides services including workplace strategy, creative space planning, furniture, prefabricated interior construction, specialty storage and project management.

“With a long-standing history of serving MillerKnoll customers, we are looking forward to our continued partnership with the talented team at HB Workplaces’ new Seattle location,” said John Michael, president of the Americas for MillerKnoll. “This acquisition creates a strong dealer partner serving customers across the Seattle market and we can’t wait to see what HB Workplaces does next.”
