Members of the catering and events industry have united to form a Salt Lake City chapter of the National Association for Catering and Events (NACE). The aim of the association is to offer local professionals a community for networking, education and career development, the association said in forming the new chapter.
“The Salt Lake City chapter of NACE is dedicated to providing event planners, caterers, venues and other event professionals with access to the full range of NACE’s educational programs, resources and events,” said a release from the organizations. “The chapter is designed to foster collaboration, knowledge-sharing and support among local event professionals, enhancing both individual careers and the local events landscape.”
“We are incredibly excited to be launching the first NACE chapter in Utah. This is a monumental milestone, not just for the local catering and events community, but for Utah as a whole,” said Bailee George, resident of the chapter. “The establishment of NACE SLC is a testament to the growth and vibrancy of the events industry here in Utah. It speaks volumes about the exciting opportunities available, and we’re proud to be part of this transformative moment for our state’s growing event scene.”
The new chapter held a launch event on Jan. 14 at the Grand America Hotel.
Founded in 1958, NACE connects professionals with the resources and community needed to excel in the events industry, offering education, certification, networking opportunities and industry recognition, the association said.
