The appointment of Shawn Teigen as president of the Utah Foundation has been announced by Art Turner, chair of the organization’s board of trustees. The appointment was effective Nov. 16.
Teigen has been an entrepreneur for many years and was a Peace Corps volunteer and a researcher at the Utah Foundation. He’s been focusing on public policy for the past 15 years, including as the Utah Foundation’s research director since 2014 and vice president since 2017. He also teaches a master of public policy course at the University of Utah.{mprestriction ids="1,3"}
Outgoing President Peter Reichard said Teigen will provide “energetic, enthusiastic leadership” to drive the Utah Foundation forward. “Shawn appreciates what makes Utah special and he’s passionate about finding ways to keep improving,” Reichard said. “It has been an honor to work with Shawn, Christopher Collard and the board to strengthen the Utah Foundation. I’m confident they will maintain the rapid upward trajectory.”
Reichard, who has served as president since 2017, is leaving to take a position as vice president of a national nonprofit organization.
“Peter has worked with the Utah Foundation board and staff to build a strength into the organization that it would not have otherwise seen,” Teigen said. “I am deeply honored by the opportunity to continue advancing the Utah Foundation’s critical work.”{/mprestriction}
