StubHub, an online ticket reseller based in San Francisco, has opened its new call center in Draper. The company celebrated the occasion with a reception for employees, government officials and media last Wednesday.
StubHub announced in May that it would be closing its call center in East Granby, Connecticut, by the time its lease for the facility expires in June 2018. The closure will idle about 250 employees in the small city near Hartford.
Stubhub expects the Draper operation, which it has dubbed Center of Excellence for Customer Experience and Trust Operations, to employ more than 400. The call center employees will provide telephone assistance to customers purchasing or buying tickets and will operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week and 365 days a year.
StubHub says it’s the world’s largest ticket marketplace, with tickets available for more than 10 million sports, music and theater events in more than 40 countries.
