Ron Zarbock
Spherion, the leading U.S. recruiting and staffing company with local roots set deep in every community where it operates, recently awarded Ron Zarbock, owner of the Salt Lake City office, with the Carol Peters Spirit Award at the company’s annual national meeting. Under Zarbock’s leadership, Spherion of Salt Lake City has become a staple in the community as a true partner in making work and life more fulfilling by connecting local job seekers to local employers that prove a mutually successful match. Zarbock and his team truly embody the Spherion spirit with their dedication to the Salt Lake City community. Launching programs such as “Light the Lives of Others” as well as the Step Up Scholarship, Zarbock’s team has worked to find ways to give back to the community, candidates and workers. Through their Light the Lives of Others program, each of Zarbock’s six offices connects with a charity, raises money and provides training and service for that organization. Recently, they have committed to buying lunch each week for one of their essential clients working through the pandemic. Putting a spin on the Christmas ham, Zarbock also gave out 900 vouchers to be redeemed at local grocery stores for a free turkey or ham to celebrate Easter. Finally, adult language learners in the community have moved to learn at home and Zarbock’s team has been working to provide them with internet hotspots through their partnership with Horizonte, an organization that supports adult learners in Salt Lake City who need the extra support for learning. The Spherion Carol Peters Spirit Award honors an owner who embodies the Spherion spirit by reflecting a positive and uplifting attitude while maintaining the company’s values. The award is named after a former owner, who passed away after a courageous battle with cancer.
