Ben Johnson
Ben Johnson is SVP Relationship Manager in Utah Commercial Banking at UMB. In this role, he focuses on fostering new relationships as well as growing existing relationships by taking the lead on new credit requests, developing treasury management strategies, underwriting risk, introducing appropriate banking partners, advocating for customers, and more. He also coordinates a team of skilled banking specialists and collaborates with them on ways to provide thoughtful, comprehensive and fluid solutions for our customers. Ben has more than 21 years of experience in the financial services industry, and he spent many years of his career at Wells Fargo. There, he served as a relationship manager with a portfolio of 150+ accounts before becoming SVP relationship manager of approximately 30 middle-market companies with total commitments of $300 million. Ben is a graduate of the Wells Fargo Credit Management Training Program as well as the Salt Lake Chamber's Leadership Utah Program. He was a recipient of the Wells Fargo Pinnacle Award in 2017. Ben earned his bachelor’s degree in finance from Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. He also holds an MBA in accounting from the David Eccles School of Business at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City. Ben lives in Holladay, Utah, with his wife and their four kids. He is an active member of several organizations in his community, including the Utah chapter of Association for Corporate Growth (ACG), American Red Cross, and ARUP. Ben enjoys the outdoors and participating in all of his kids' activities. His hobbies include running, mountain biking, skiing, fly fishing, coaching youth sports, and working in the yard. He also loves all kinds of music and enjoys a good book or podcast.
